…you’ll forget about me after I’ve been gone…

Sorry, got carried away there. I’ve obviously been doing too much Rock Band.
What the title has to do with me is this:
Nicora has dinged level 58, the level required to step through the Dark Portal and to the Outlands. However, she won’t be making that journey any time soon. She still has a bundle of quests to do back in Azeroth. Off the top of my head, she still has to do Burning Steppes, both Plaguelands, Azshara, Felwood, Winterspring, and Silithus. She just finished Searing Gorge. She might go through the Portal just to get the flight points but she already has her hearthstone set to Shattrath (which was done about 8 levels ago when she needed to get her Master skinning so she paid a warlock to get her there). Oh, and here’s the wonderful fellow who gave Nicora enough experience to reach level 58:

He’s the quest rewarder for
Calm Before the Storm and that was all Nicora needed. Kind of anti-climatic but oh well.

So now that I’ve introduced
Anuniaq, I can finally talk about her!
Anu and Palartok had some fun on Saturday night. You see, she’s made two friends on Moon Guard (which I only chose because it’s suppose to have the best roleplaying on it, not because I knew anyone there). The first one is a level 40-something tauren druid named
Bursthoof. I met him way back when she was a mere level 10 and we’ve become great friends ever since, both in-game and outside of it. The second is a blood elf rogue named
Xion that was only a couple of levels behind me when I met him in the Ghostlands and is now the same level as Anu. Both of them are a blast. Bursthoof is the nicest guy ever and is fun to hang around with. Xion has a really sharp and raunchy wit that always makes me laugh and he’s sooo much fun to bug, being a little squishie elf and all. He also loves Palartok, due to him saving his pink hide so many times. He probably likes Palartok better than me because when I save him, I bug him about it while Palartok just silently waits for the next mob to chew on. Lately, Xion’s been questing with Anu a lot.

So…I apparently managed to cause quite a stir with my previous post about
not being eager to reach level 70. First of all, I want to say that if I offended anyone, I’m sorry. And I wasn’t really mad at anyone either (even you Pelides
. Mainly, I was just ranting in general about how some people like to force an ideal on you, like getting to level 70 as quickly as possible.
Now, apparently there are some people who
play the game like me, some who
have come to enjoy the end game, and yet others who
rushed to level 70 because the end game is specifically what they wanted. Before, when I had been reading blog posts about raiding and such, I got the impression that I was somehow less of a player because I didn’t have that mind set. I’m an explorer by nature and I like to see everything in the game. Also, something that has carried over from the RPGs that I usually play is that reaching the end means…well, the end. In RPGs, once the storyline is finished and you’re all decked out in the greatest gear, the credits roll and that’s it. I was always sad when it ended, especially if it was a particularly good storyline that I was really into.
The point is though, that I have found that just because most people really enjoy the end game and like to get there fast, doesn’t mean that they expect me to get there fast as well. Okay, yeah, there will always be those that force their ideals onto me but meh, I can ignore them.
So hopefully no hard feelings and I wish everyone a good time at whatever they do, be it raiding, PvPing, exploring, RPing…or just whatever.
